Hello
Recently moved into a house. Built in 1934, brick. The interior walls are made of wood with plaster on them. I've become curious about what might be under the stairs leading up to the attic. Below is a picture of the original drawing showing the upper floor. My thought is whether it might be possible to open up the part of the wall that is from the kitchen towards the attic stairs. (not a kitchen anymore, converted into a regular bedroom sometime in the 70s, so the sink in the drawing doesn't exist...) The intention is not to tear down the wall completely, but just a bit right in the corner against the outer wall and build a closet or shelves.
Anyone living in a similar house or who might know. From the stairs, there are horizontal boards under the steps, like a sloped ceiling under the stairs.

Blueprint of second floor in a 1934 brick house, showing rooms like "Kök", "Rum", and a stairway to attic; context for renovation discussion.

Picture from the stairs, the wall on the right is the one towards the old kitchen on the plan
Wooden staircase with visible beams, leading upwards. Right wall faces the old kitchen according to the floor plan.
edit: couldn't tell right/left there. fixed

There lies a dog buried ;-)

Probably not a dog... Make a hole with a jigsaw or hole saw so you can insert a hand with a camera. Then it will be easier to decide if you want to glue the lid back or make a closet.

I guess it's an empty "dead space".

Remember to post the pictures here...
