A normal floor structure is designed for 200 kg/sqm, this includes everything on the beams, i.e., also the floor. What happens with a beam is not that it breaks but you exceed the acceptable deflection; I believe this is a ratio between beam length and a percentage rate. If it is 4 meters, then the acceptable deflection is 2 cm at maximum load. What happens when you add tiles is that you increase the deflection for a smaller load since you have a higher base load or self-weight.
The floor will not collapse, but the tiles may detach from the substrate. Also, consider that what the tiles are placed on has a deflection between the beams, so some say to have a c/c 400mm on the beams if you only have one floor chipboard. What is usually done is to apply a 3 cm self-leveling compound to create a self-supporting structure so the tiles cannot come loose. Also, some of these rules are only for wet zones, where there is a waterproof layer, to prevent it from cracking.
So you can probably lay your tiles as well, but keep in mind not to place a grand piano or to have all people standing on the same square meter during a party. If that happens, a tile may come loose or crack. There is more risk in the bathroom, but you usually don't have the same loads there as in a living room.
