It works well, you don't see a bump. I have used a really wide trowel on the final coat, spreading it on both sides so that you get a strip of filler that is 20-30 cm wide on each side. Immediately after the taping, there is a faint "ridge" right over the strip. But after light sanding, it becomes even and you don't see any bump.
