Hello,

We have a floor heating pump in the hallway that was previously behind a wall. We tore down this wall and then saw that it wasn't waterproofed.

A couple of months passed before we could find the time to start rebuilding the wall, and of course, we forgot to waterproof! There is still an opportunity, though, as we haven't installed the outermost layer yet.

Here is how it looks: https://imgur.com/a/aQpgY

I understand that a water cabinet would have been the best, but it doesn't seem realistic now in hindsight, so the question is, what would be the best solution without an unreasonable amount of work?

My first thought was to spray something in the "box" that keeps it sealed, perhaps foam? I also have age-resistant plastic that is quite thick, which could probably be pressed under the joints. However, water is tricky; it's important that the water can rise all the way up to ground level so that you can see that it's leaking onto the tile floor.

No one has any suggestions? Should we maybe just leave it as it is?
