I need washers for this type of screw, does anyone know what type and size of washer I should use. Do you need washers on both sides to screw a handle on a dresser? 3-4mm

Right now the handle and screw go through a bit in the wood, need advice.

  • A shiny metal screw lying on a textured fabric surface.
If it is supposed to sit in a wooden construction where a nut presses against the wood, the nut will sink into the wood. A regular washer can be used, take the screw to the store and see what fits. There are different sizes available.

Okay, thanks. Do you need washers on both sides, or just the underside?

Large head on the one you're showing, it's the side with the possible nut that needs a washer, buy a washer that's as large as the head.

Does it matter if it sinks in a little, it primarily depends on how much force you use when tightening, right?
