Warning for Biltema's decking screw
I had the same problem with Essve’s screws, although I used them for scaffolding, spoke with Essve to point out the deficiencies but was told that I had used them for the wrong construction, but they broke no matter where they were mounted, they were completely uninterested.
Even high-quality screws can break. Laid decking 26 years ago and used Berner's acid-resistant stainless steel screws. They have held up excellently. Took up some decking boards a few years ago. Then some screws broke/had broken at the joint between the decking and the support beam.
There are old threads about bad screws

Found article about Essve that has had quality problems and recalled screws.

I have also had problems with Biltema's decking screws, though not the same as the original poster, but Stainless, A2 75mm. As soon as it got a bit more resistant, the screw started to twist like a spiral and began to wobble, or it simply broke off during screwing. Maybe 10% of the screws were like this. I have previously used Byggmax decking screws without problems, but needed to supplement a bit, so that's why I went with Biltema this time.
I have always installed decking tightly together; decking always shrinks over time when it dries, not expands!A AntonAnimalen said:
Have similar experience with Biltema screws. We built a treehouse for the children last summer, and already early in the fall we had to "close" the treehouse as screws began to break, making it all dangerous. After the winter, so many had broken that it started to collapse.
You can easily solve that by going into your online bank and finding a bank statement with the date you bought them. I did that quite recently regarding a car battery that didn't last, and I got a new one. Good luckJ Johan byggare said:
It is Biltema we are talking about, of course the screws break.J Johan byggare said:I just want to share a warning about Biltema's decking screws, see images below. I laid 20 square meters of decking in spring 2018, the first 15 with screws of unknown brand and about 5 square meters with Biltema screws.
There is no problem with the unknown brand but now I note that about 90% of Biltema screws have simply broken.
You'll have a hard time finding worse crap, and I hope not many of you have bought and used the same junk!
