Hello,
We are going to build an indoor feature wall with this stone

https://www.flisbyab.se/produkter/skiffervagg-ra-sandbrun

The wall is not near any moisture, and according to the supplier's recommendations, plaster or organic material should not be used.

Do you think I can use moisture-resistant boards and attach the wall stone directly to the boards without using a sealing layer, etc.? We have attached this stone to moisture-resistant boards before, which worked perfectly, but that was in a bathroom = sealing tape, sealing layer, etc.

Now that we don't have to worry about moisture, can we use the adhesive directly on the moisture-resistant boards? Do you recommend any other substrate instead of moisture-resistant boards? We would like to avoid as much preparation work as possible and some alternatives might require less preparation work than others (?)

Thanks in advance!

I have placed such stones directly on a painted drywall behind the fireplace without any thought that it wouldn't hold.
