I have a small basement of about 40 sqm. The walls are made of concrete hollow blocks (1980). Then I have an air gap, insulation, and drywall. The walls end with a plinth from the concrete floor to allow for ventilation.
Now I'm renovating and putting an OSB board under the drywall. Between the OSB and insulation, I’m placing plastic. On top of the drywall, I was thinking of putting fiberglass fabric, which will be painted with suitable paint.
My wife and I have now entered into a discussion about the suitability of the fiberglass option. Does anyone have any experience with this method? Or are there other ideas for surface materials? Bare OSB doesn’t look very nice. And painted even worse. Can we just paint the drywall? Maybe with some form of textured paint?

We have painted fabric here and there because my wife at home thinks it's nice. It gives some life to the wall, I prefer it to a smooth wall just like I prefer panels that give a checkered pattern on the ceiling rather than smooth ceilings.
But it's a matter of taste, so there's no right or wrong.
