Hello!
I am planning to build an outdoor kitchen this fall/next spring. I want bricks with concrete slabs and have realized that the weight of building everything with brick and concrete slabs will be too much for my deck. Therefore, I am now considering placing wall brick (decorative brick) on a wooden frame. The plan is to glue the brick onto some form of sheet material which in turn is attached to the frame. Then grout between the bricks. Right now, I am pondering which sheet material might be suitable to withstand all weather conditions, stiff enough not to bend under the weight, and can be screwed into the frame without costing a fortune.

I’ve been looking at "Do-it" building boards at Bauhaus but I guess these are not stiff enough, otherwise they would be great. Also checked out "Farmacell power panel" at Hornbach but have never felt the material, so hard to say if it would be appropriate.

Gratefully accepting tips on sheet material!

Fiber cement boards are available for purchase. I have no experience with it, but I guess it might be a decent base for decorative brick.

I would have taken fiber cement. Perhaps 12 mm thick. And a good outdoor adhesive.

The frame behind could perhaps be pressure-treated wood.
