Villa construction in Dubai - absolutely fantastic.

I think it looks like Styrofoam panels that the whole house is built from. :O
Is anyone ready to try a similar project in Sweden?

Given what the labor force likely costs in Dubai, that's probably not the biggest expense. One might be astonished by the inefficient construction process. How many people were there to erect one wall section?!
There are foams that have quite good strength, and then it's a question of whether it is reinforced or treated with something, because a wall that has something like PC plastic with PUR in it and then glass fibers or kevlar fibers will result in a strong wall that is lightweight and durable. However, it would also become very expensive, but then you would have a bulletproof house, assuming it doesn't get blown away if the wind catches it and it is not properly anchored to the ground.
I can imagine that these houses are at least as well insulated as many houses in Sweden (at least those older than the 1980s). But it looked like there were some form of PU boards with closed pores, and I wouldn't trust them to handle the design loads that we need to build for in Sweden. Still, 300-500 kPa in both compression and tension is not bad, but say that long-term loads of 200-300 kPa in cavities can build a quite strong house; then again, they become very light, so wind could be a problem if built like that.

We erected 140 square timber houses in 64 man-hours in the Swedish winter... With a tight roof in that time...
but then the house is almost ready when it arrives and you don't build a stick-built house in that time since it is almost a stick-built house as it arrives in small parts that are pre-made, like having drywall and studs that are pre-cut so it probably shouldn't be compared to a prefab house and then there is a huge differenceStringfellow Hawke said:
