Among all the other things we're working on with the house, there's a small project to replace the siding. Currently, the house is constructed so that the wall consists of plank frame - old insulation - old facade - air gap - newer insulation - newer siding. At the top of the newer siding, there are small ventilation holes at each rafter, but in the old siding, there doesn't seem to be any ventilation to the attic to speak of. Possibly a millimeter right under the roof sheathing. We also don't have any exhaust from the attic. The house is from '47, and we have no moisture problems in the attic.

So, to the question: Now that we're replacing the siding, should we install some form of ventilation to the attic? Only intake or also exhaust? Does anyone have opinions on the matter? :)

I would probably do the same as you have done. If you haven't had any problems before, it will likely work in the future as well.
You're not adding any more insulation in connection with the change?
Overall, I think it's wise not to ventilate too much towards an attic, preferably minimally or not at all.
