Hello. Is it okay to have a vapor barrier on the exterior wall facing the bathroom with waterproofing? I have a 25mm air gap/installation layer on the wall (not insulated) so the air should move freely there towards adjacent rooms where there is only OSB+gypsum. What do the regulations say?
Best regards

GVK gives, as stated on the page, no recommendations regarding the house's construction. It is better to turn to Säker Vatten, which states that there should be a diffusion-open vapor barrier behind a wall with a waterproofing layer.

Illustration of wall construction with labeled parts: plastic foil, vapor brake, wind protection board, and insulation according to building standards.

The vast majority who have an installation layer run with uninterrupted plastic on the exterior walls, as long as there is a foil barrier or plastic mat...

Isn't it never wrong to follow industry rules?
