We are currently renovating our house and, of course, we're missing one thing. We need a used ceiling or floor beam. Does anyone know where we can find one? I've looked around a bit online, but I can't find anything near where we live, in Skåne. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello

I assume you *don't* mean you need a "new" used load-bearing beam, but just a beam for decoration in the ceiling.

Here's what I did when I renovated a room at home. I bought 2 regular 3m posts/beams 70*70 mm. Then I started banging, filing, rasping, hitting, cutting, etc., to give it some simulated age damage. When I was satisfied with the appearance, I stained it with a dark glaze. Then I put up the beams in the ceiling with a 2-meter interval. The result turned out great.

I hope this is what you were asking for - otherwise, you can disregard the answer...

If it's thick beams you're after, just like I was, the best is to find a farmer with their own sawmill. Preferably one who has some volume and knowledge and has some logs that have been lying around for a couple of years drying...
I ordered beams of 250x180 mm with a length of 6 meters.
Then it was just a matter of inviting the family over for dinner after lifting them 3 meters up to the ceiling ::)
I was just looking for the price per meter, but unfortunately, it has been misplaced. However, I do remember that "it costs to be at the top ;)

It was an interesting store, is there something similar in Västerbotten you think?

Interesting link you gave us Immobil!
Does anyone know if there is a similar company that deals with building recycling in the area of Sthlm-norr - Uppsala - Västerås?

I have been to Gysinge to purchase some small items with old character like fittings etc.......
