Just had light gray grout installed (1 day ago) and it is streaky. Large sections are darker gray while other sections are very light gray. And these sections can be right next to each other, so there's say 10cm of light gray that directly turns into 30cm of dark grout and then comes light again, etc. A bit like a zebra. Will this adjust over time or is there something wrong with the work?

Hello!! Did you get any clarity? I have the same problem! Need to know asap! :)

Best regards

Joanna

If you use too much water when cleaning the joint, you can leach out the pigment, causing it to become lighter in those areas.

Okay, but it is the darker one that is the least and feels "wrong." Have you used too little water then?

Ok men det är den mörkare som är minst av och känns ”fel”. Har man haft för lite vatten då?
It has been unevenly watered, that's all that can be said without knowing if the grout should have had the darker or lighter tone.

Did you do it yourself or is it a craftsman?

An acquaintance. He is not an expert but has done a lot. He is surprised himself that it turned out this way. At Kakeldax, they just told my partner that it can also turn dark if you have too much water. Is that so?

I have only heard about it getting too light, but maybe it can also go the other way depending on the fog.

I assume the fog has dried now, so it doesn't depend on uneven drying.

Assume it? It was put in yesterday. I'm not on site, it's my partner and our friend who are. I'm just trying to help as much as I can here from my mom's place where the kids and I are staying while this is being done.
