The fact that prices differ between professionals and consumers for the same products ultimately just means that as a consumer, I'm paying for professionals to get it cheaper.
There's no debate about the fact that brand manufacturers also produce low-priced products; it's completely normal. In most cases, it's the same product as in the branded packages for the simple reason that it's often very expensive to change production (which would make the low-priced product more expensive than the branded one).
So, what does the brand producer gain by doing this?
1. First and foremost, they increase production, which means the margin on the branded product increases even more.
2. You can probably safely assume that there will be more "home enthusiasts" buying the low-priced product. The result is that the obviously greater risk of failure will not "tarnish" the branded product.
