we are about to install underfloor heating in the hall, we have bought chipboards that are milled for the heating pipe... but what should be applied before the tiles? there must be something better than floor gypsum that conducts heat better?
Underfloor heating plates before the drywall plays a part, but regardless, it will be warm, and it's what's underneath that is more crucial if you're considering energy losses. Spackel or drywall makes little difference; they are essentially the same. If you want quick temperature regulation, I would skip the chipboard and lay the pipe directly in the self-leveling compound.
What do you mean by conducting heat better?
