U-staircase made of glulam

Hi. I am planning a staircase that will be built soon, and I would love for you to take a look at the drawings I've made and share any ideas.
I've made the drawings in Google SketchUp, so please have a look if you have the program. (if not, there are free versions available for download)
I plan to use 42mm glulam beams from Byggmax for the steps and 90x90mm for the posts.

I have used meters as millimeters, mostly because I didn't exhaust the program

I am skeptical about the choice of material. Spruce is not optimal for a staircase. At least pine, but preferably oak, ash, or maple for the steps.
