I have a question about tretex and fire hazard. We have tretex on a wall we're renovating and are planning to place a stove in front of it. We would prefer not to put renovation plasterboard on top but to just put up restoration wallpaper (Konkret is extremely easy to work with) directly on the tretex.
Some have mentioned that it's good to put plasterboard on top to reduce the fire hazard. But on the outermost part of a wall, there is wallpaper or paint - isn't it the wallpaper/paint that starts burning and then the fire spreads up to the ceiling? Then it doesn't really matter what's underneath on the wall?

I would remove the tretex behind the stove and put a regular 13 gypsum, then renovation wallpaper over everything.
Check with the chimney sweep, they have the knowledge and it's them who later approve the installation. If you have the chimney sweep with you from the start, it's easier. We have tretex very close to our stove and also in the ceiling above, but with the help of the chimney sweep, it worked out so that we could install the stove anyway. What you need to monitor is how hot the surface/material gets and if it doesn't get too hot, it's okay.
