Hello

I am planning to build a trellis under the regular ceiling. I saw a picture online and now I want to do the same since we're already remodeling the kitchen.

But now to my question, how would you install this "ceiling trellis"? I was thinking I would assemble it on the floor and screw from the inside so the screw heads aren't visible at all. Has anyone done something similar? Or does anyone have any useful tips?

It’s something in this style I'm aiming for:
Modern kitchen with wooden slat ceiling, island with stove and sink, bar stools, and cabinets; adjacent living area visible.

The simplest way is probably to first screw up some form of batten, across your upcoming "trellis." Then I would nail the trellis slats with 18g brad nails. They are so small that they are almost invisible.

Screwing from behind seems extremely complicated...

I think you misunderstood my thesis, I was planning to attach the trellis to the beams before lifting it up to the ceiling.

I understood that, but my comment was aimed at it.

I think my suggestion is significantly simpler and will therefore look nicer too!
