In the middle of the staircase, where the downstairs transitions to the upstairs, I get a line on the wall. There is probably a displacement there.
Since I have a downlight there, it becomes quite noticeable.
What do you think is the best way to conceal this?
Should I put a white molding over it, or does that look strange?

Grey staircase wall with subtle texture, illuminated by a wall light, featuring partial view of wooden stairs on the right.

Nobody knows what is usually done during these transitions?

One usually makes a wide waist of about 3-400mm in, for example, MDF.

Do you mean that you then attach the MDF as a sort of molding that is 3-400mm wide?

Yep, then it can be decorated with some moldings and/or milled to look a little better.
