We have removed the chimney from our house built in 1884. Wow, what a job :) the chimney is on a foundation of cobblestones that goes down into the ground. Between the ground and the joists, it's about 100 cm. My idea is to remove enough stone so I have room to lay a new subfloor and insulate before the new floor is laid. I also have an idea about first installing a fine mesh net so no mice etc. can climb up to the joists. Which subfloor and insulation should I choose, or if you have any other ideas on how I should best proceed.
Thanks in advance,
