Hello,
I have a 4 kg heavy crystal chandelier that needs to go up on the concrete ceiling in the living room. I am a complete beginner, but I will get help from people who know better when it's time for the practical work.
But before that, I want to double-check if I've got this right...
Do I need anything more than the following...?
Hammer drill
Possibly a center punch
Fastener that holds the weight (expanding bolt?)
Drill bit that fits the fastener
1. Do I need anything additional? (Besides safety glasses and a stool to stand on?)
2. I am spontaneously wondering if I should get or borrow a better quality multi-detector? Does it seem unnecessary? The fastener I looked at goes 4.5 cm in, and it sounds a bit dull to drill into water or electrical lines. I have no idea how such things are laid in houses. Mine is a multi-story apartment building that is many decades old.
3. And an extra little question... How long are molly bolts usually - both for single and double drywall? I haven’t even examined the walls yet, but I want to have an idea of how far the detector needs to reach.
Thanks for the help
