Hello!

I'm wondering if anyone else has bought tongue and groove boards from Byggmax that didn't match the dimensions?

I'm in the process of building a deck and thought I would order all the timber I need for both the deck and a "friggebod."

For the "friggebod," I ordered tongue and groove boards 22x95 and opted for home delivery. Now that I'm looking at the timber, it seems too flimsy to be 22x95. I measured them, and it turns out that all the ones I measure are 19x95.

If you check their website, it says they sell 17x95 and 22x95. So they don't even have anything that's 19x95.

I don't know if I have the energy to argue about it, but it's annoying. Has anyone else experienced this? The money doesn't matter—the difference is only 250:- on what I ordered—but I wanted more substantial tongue and groove boards.

I haven't measured the råspont, but their glespanel is closer to 26 mm than the 28 they are said to be...

Yes, and the problem is if this raw wood isn't enough now and you need to buy more, you'll be in a position where you have to hope they still have 19x95 left since everyone else is using 22x95.

A 3mm difference is quite a lot in thickness and not acceptable when it's supposed to be 22mm.

It's different when it's pressure-treated, then you know from the start that it can vary widely from 118-124mm depending on how wet it is.

I would file a complaint about it

Yes, I should probably do that, as I bought it because it was supposed to be 22mm and if the timber can vary 1-2mm here and there that's one thing, but 3mm on all of them is something completely different.

Yes, it feels more like a misaligned setting on the saw

Yes, complain about it.
Tell them to come with the truck and replace it.

That's not how it should be, and it's probably moälven timber, it should be of quite OK quality. (and dimensions)

I imagine that Byggmax often has lumber that is off by a few mm here and there..

Complain, so they can't afford to make mistakes in the long run.

When undertaking a medium-sized project like that, it's probably more advisable to get quotes from "real" construction dealers as it usually ends up being cheaper, especially considering Byggmax's expensive deliveries. I like Byggmax when you pick up yourself and get to sort out the straight studs and boards from the crooked ones because it's about 50/50 there sometimes.

You should probably make a complaint about the lumber if it bothers you.

Just want to say it was advertised. The funny thing was that when they asked if I could bring a raw timber, I saw that it was marked as 20x95. So Byggmax raw timber listed as 22x95 is actually 20x95. It ended with them coming to pick up the raw timber. Got my money back and 200:- refund for shipping.
