I am planning to build a bathroom and am considering what alternatives there are for the ceiling.
I plan to nail a sparse panel as a base.
It would be convenient with some ready-made panels that do not need painting.

Do you have any tips?

I know a ceiling called "Agnes Tak Ess" that comes in different designs, they have it at Coop Lillån in Örebro I know. They can be a bit tricky to install but they turn out quite nice. They are treated with a type of white film so they might be suitable for use in a bathroom.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any good pictures of these but here is a picture anyway

When I renovated the bathroom a few years ago, I used a chipboard that was "coated." The boards are tongued and grooved at all ends. Easy to put up by yourself. I think I remember they were called something like "Elittak"? The boards are 1200 x 600 mm.

Thanks for the tips.

You mention laminated chipboard. How do you mount it? If you screw straight through, it becomes unsightly.

There are boards that are meant to have metal tracks, like those usually found in offices, but that's a bit unnecessary since I don't need to be able to take down my boards. I mean, it's directly on the sparse panel and there are no ventilation pipes that need to be accessed.

First, you need to space c/c 30 in the ceiling. Join them together the same way as when laying tongue and groove flooring, but with the difference that you angle screw/nail in the tongue. There were only "visible" screws towards the walls, but these are hidden behind the ceiling molding. I think it was easy to work with and turned out pretty nice too. It retains its color and shape even after 8 years.
Easy to wipe off during a thorough cleaning ;)
