Hello,

We are planning to brighten up the hallway that runs through our apartment and make it cozier. Our idea is to have wallpaper halfway up, a trim in the middle, and paint below. Including an inspiration photo.

Quite a bit of work is required on our walls since they were poorly done from the start. (Uneven, lots of layers of wallpaper, etc.). And I saw that many people use MDF boards when they create wainscoting. So I'm thinking of doing something similar but without decorative moldings. All the walls are concrete, so what is the easiest way to attach this to concrete walls? The hallway goes around the apartment, which means there are many "small" walls between doors/openings. Including example images. Should we put studs underneath? Even on the small walls? Directly on?

  • Floral patterned wallpaper with a picture frame and a floor lamp, showcasing an interior design style for a hallway.
  • Narrow hallway with white walls, a red bag on the floor, taped cardboard on the floor, and visible patch marks on the wall. Doorways lead to other rooms.
  • Hallway with white walls and a door marked "WC," showing potential for renovation with wainscoting and paneling ideas. Shadows and visible floor area.
  • Person attaches MDF panels to a wall, creating wainscoting with trim and unfinished walls above. The room has scattered tools and materials on the floor.

I have applied gypsum to the concrete wall with adhesive/mortar because I didn't feel like plastering.
Sticks to most things, though it may not be suitable for gluing on wallpaper.
