Hello, I need tips on how to neatly cut wall panels that will lie against the stringer. Staircase with white steps and panel wall, illustrating a space where wall panels meet the staircase stringer, relevant to cutting wall boards. Staircase with white wall panels and a brass handrail. Boots and a drill are visible in the corner, related to wallboard cutting near the stringer. Ceiling with wooden panels and angled joists, seeking advice on cutting wallboards to fit.

Trace the shape of the stringer, jigsaw from the back or for example, plunge saw from the top.
I believe I used both saws.
Quarter round molding or soft seal at the bottom then depending on how much needs to be concealed.

First, make a template out of paper. It is cheap to modify and, for example, tape on extra pieces if you have cut away too much.

A little follow-up I took down the stairs when I discovered mold up by the ceiling on an old wooden beam. Started tearing down in the bathroom because we were going to renovate the bathroom but it ended up with having to tear down quite a lot when we discovered both mold and rot in the old construction. So all the walls are gone now and I will build up new ones and a new staircase is coming to us.
