Tips for metal framework false ceiling?
Hello there!
I'm planning to put up a gypsum ceiling with a metal framework in a room measuring 2x4.5m. I've installed a couple of ceilings before, but then I used wooden studs. The existing concrete ceiling in question is not completely straight, so I think one could save some headaches by starting from straight wall moldings. I don't intend to lower the ceiling more than 55-65mm including the gypsum.
Does anyone have tips on a system that works for such a low ceiling drop, is easy to work with, and easy to find?

Hey! Gyproc has a system like that which I've worked with quite a bit. It's actually quite convenient. But I think it's more expensive than framing.
Is it a large ceiling you need to frame? Otherwise, you could place a 45mm U-profile for steel studs on the wall and then use 45x45 wooden studs within them. To suspend/hang them, just take a perforated strip and bolt it into the concrete ceiling and then screw it to the side of the stud.

Combining steel and wooden frames that way sounds really smart! I'll probably go ahead and do that. Thanks!S Snickarkirre said:Hey! Gyproc has such a system that I've worked with quite a bit. It’s actually pretty smooth. But I think it's more expensive than using framing.
