The groundwork should be finished by Thursday, so then I will build profiles and try to get the municipality to finalize early next week. Then it's time to procure/install drainage and L blocks, etc.
I need to start checking prices and delivery times, and I'm wondering if anyone here can recommend a company south of Stockholm with good prices?
Do you think it pays to be loyal and buy all the lumber from the same place later, or should one chase the best price for basic materials separately and then the lumber separately?
How much discount can one "demand" if aiming to be loyal, and is there room to negotiate significantly on the prices offered? For basic materials/pipes, initially, I plan to check with "Mark och Dräneringsteknik" in Länna and the building shop in Väster Haninge as I've been recommended both by two different people.

No one had anything to say?
I can at least tell you that the building shop called me yesterday and suggested I contact a structural engineer regarding my slab, I wanted them to calculate material cost, not load-bearing capacity. I faxed a cross-section drawing but wrote that I thought their supplier of edge elements and such should dimension what I wanted according to their material's properties; was I off track then?
They haven't called back.
Beijer in Haninge received a fax, no one has contacted me. MDT in Länna got one too, no call. I faxed these yesterday.
Today I also faxed AKB, no response from them either.
How long should you wait before calling to ask about the response to the quotation?

Call and say that you are faxing and you will get immediate information on when you will receive a response - this gives you a good opportunity to clarify what is important to you in their offer (price, delivery time, quality, home delivery, simple orders, etc.).
If you are in these areas, I think you should also give Lissma saw a call.
Regarding discounts, you will receive a pm.

I sent emails to both AKB and Lissma when I purchased some materials and received a faster response from Lissma than from AKB.
In addition, in my case, Lissma was significantly cheaper.
In my case, it was about Leca, Mur och Putsbruk, and Cement.

I called some of the companies before I faxed and asked for things like fax numbers or inquired about the range of products.
However, Lissma said they didn't sell edging elements in L profile, so there was no point in talking to them right now...
I'll sit down on Monday and call to check if they've received the fax if nothing else

Check with Lissma again, I know they sell Siroc L elements. Keep in mind that many people are probably on holiday staffing right now, while everyone wants to buy building materials. Fax inquiries might not be the highest priority now. Call and talk to a salesperson BEFORE you send the fax.

I can definitely recommend Orminge Trä. The cheapest in the Stockholm area and incredibly accommodating staff.
It's not always worth buying everything from one place.
Byggmax is the cheapest for some materials such as screws, etc. Then it can be worthwhile to buy a lot from Poland as well.
Best regards,
David

David: Do you have experience with buying building materials in Poland? How does it work if so? Can I send quote requests there just like I do here at home?
Where should I turn to? And perhaps most importantly, how much cheaper is it?

Alright, today I was calling around again to see if I could get responses to my quote requests.
I started with the building shop in VH, the guy who answered referred me to his colleague who was busy. He said he would ask him to call me, but no one called back all day.
Mark and drainage service were calculating, and this afternoon I received a response to the quote. Nice, except they didn't answer the material cost for the garage slab.
Beijer in Länna didn't understand anything. I had to talk to someone in finance who called back after a while and was still equally confused. However, we concluded that he thought I had responded to a quote request they had made. Once that was clarified, I got the number of a salesperson. I called him, and the switchboard answered saying he was busy at the moment but took a message and number. He didn't call back all day either.
AKB said I should get an answer in a day or so because the person calculating those things wasn’t available right now, so I'll have to wait for a response from them...
But honestly: Are you considered an "unserious" customer if you don't walk into the store since they don't even return a phone call? Or do they not want to sell anything? In my job, it wouldn't be acceptable to ignore potential customers like this, but for these companies maybe it doesn't matter???
Then there's another thing I've reflected on when I've compared some older quotes to today's... Some have specified quality S80 for ground insulation, others have S100 and S200 in their calculations. Can it be interpreted that you can downgrade to S80 from those specifying higher and thus get a better price, or are the others specifying materials that won't be suitable for building a one-story house on?

It will be Sundolitt's ground insulation and edge elements, then there will be water-based underfloor heating from LK.
I also ordered some pipes and bends, etc., and get all the essential materials for underfloor heating and reinforcement for the slab and such anyway.
I'll get the first delivery later this week, the Sundolitt stuff on Wednesday next week, and the heating on Friday. So I should have time to get the sewage system in the ground done, level it out, and lay out the edge elements by the time the underfloor heating arrives and then lay it over the weekend and reinforce...
How much notice should you have when ordering concrete, by the way?
