Can anyone answer if it is possible to tile on minerit (the standard board).

It's in a dry area around a wood stove, i.e., no water/dish is present at this wall.

I'm already using a flexfix that can withstand underfloor heating and the movements it entails, shouldn't it also adhere to a minerit board?

Tepro claims that this is not possible, but I have not managed to get a sensible explanation from them as to why not. They claim that it moves too much, which I find hard to imagine. It's exactly the same board as the VT board, but without the waterproofing. Adhesion is not a problem anyway.

..and it does. I know a builder who had problems with the tiles coming off the wall because of this. Now, this was a few years ago, but things haven't changed that much with the minerite.
It is said that the regular variant moves more than a chipboard.

Is that so? Then it can hardly be the same material in the VT board as in the regular one, even though that's the information I've received. And I don't understand how Minerit can move so much more than Masterboard.

Ok, we'll see..difficult to understand though..
Otherwise one might suspect that it's a sales gimmick that benefits the more expensive board?
If not, then they have another product to develop

But now it'll be a layer of renovation gypsum instead, because I'm not going to take a chance..
