I would need some information on how to proceed when laying tiles on waterborne underfloor heating. It involves a concrete beam construction with battens and aluflex pipes that will wind through milled chipboard......but what next?
Is it gypsum that goes next?
Single or double?
....and then over this?
Help!

Hello! I wonder if you're a bit off track. Are you using Rooth's system? Check their website. I think you should glue 24 mm frigge onto the concrete. The frigolit has glued aluminum plates. The tiles are laid directly on the plates. You must use the manufacturer's adhesive. This system is really good.
On the concrete, we have floor joists + tongue and groove (which we will later remove to lay these milled chipboard panels without raising the floor level).
Just wondering what should be used after the heating loops... is it floor gypsum and leveling compound or what?

Now, it doesn't state where you are going to install your tiles, but I assume it is a hallway or something like that... in my hallway, I have placed floor gypsum on the pipes (which are in metal plates, which are on sparse paneling...) then I just laid my tiles on the floor gypsum. Primed first and then adhesive and stone... that's how I did it, both looks and works great...Macke-74 said:
Can strengthen the source with fix and tiles directly on the loop if it's Rooths system. On the other hand, limestone (about 20 thick) was placed on top and it went just fine, I can't imagine there would be any difference. Important, though, to use their own fix I would think.
