Found no post about this so I'm starting a new thread:

After some indecision, we have decided to change the tiles in the kitchen. But now we're wondering if we can tile over our existing mosaic. It's on the wall by the sink and so on and is just to be a backsplash.
We plan to use tiles that are 10*60 cm. We would prefer not to try removing the mosaic because the drywall sheets will probably need to be replaced as well. Should we sand down the mosaic or prime with something before the adhesive?

I would be eternally grateful for quick answers as we are soon going to start the renovation.

No problem with placing new tiles on top of the old ones, there is adhesive for this. Lips Super Trope for example.

I, however, would have kept the green mosaic, it looks awesome with the white cabinets.

There will be way too much white and you're going to have white tiles as well.
