I have a chimney in the kitchen where one side of the chimney is flush with a plastered wall. I would like to put tiles over both the chimney and the plaster to create a uniform, smooth wall without visible seams or the like.
The chimney previously had tiles at the bottom and is painted at the top.
I want to use tiles because I want to use the same tiles on the floor as a spark guard that I place on the wall.
I guess there's always a certain risk of cracks and problems due to the chimney heating up and cooling down periodically. However, the tiles that were there before have been in place for at least 30 years and stayed intact.
Does anyone have experience and tips to share on the matter?
