Hello,
We are planning to remove the parquet in front of the tiled stove and lay tiles there instead of the metal plate we've had. However, the parquet is higher than the tile, with a difference of 9 mm. What is the best way to build it up (to lay under the tiles)?
We were thinking of using plasterboard, and I thought there was 9 mm plasterboard. But apparently, there isn't when we asked at the hardware store. Do you have any tips?
Thanks!

I just saw that the board I was thinking of is not good for tiling, I don't know why????
Apparently, it should be one of these instead: http://www.beijerbygg.se/templates/BB_Produkt.aspx?id=35491 It's 8mm, so it works.

There is 9mm outdoor plasterboard, but I don't think it's very suitable for indoors.
When you say you need a 9mm board, have you considered that the adhesive builds a few mm?
We made a template from a wooden board for the opening in front of our round tiled stove and sent it to a stone quarry company that cut out a whole granite slab which we placed in front of the stove. We glued it with a special adhesive for natural stone. It turned out really nice with a whole stone slab in front!
