I have wooden floors in the hallway. At first, I considered leaving it as is, but since I plan to have wooden floors in all other rooms, I want to create some contrast and also have a more distinctive surface. The question is, is it enough to sand the floor, or does it also need floor plasterboard?

I had chipboard, added another one (22 + 22 mm). Have had tiles for 10 years now. It's still holding up, but they were large tiles 35 x 35 cm.
If you don't want to add that thickness, I recommend glass fiber reinforced plasterboard, available in thin dimensions.

Plasterboard is absolutely necessary. You should also check if you have 60 or 30 cm between the floor joists under the wooden floor. If it's 30, one layer of plasterboard is enough... otherwise, it is advisable to screw and glue on an additional layer of plasterboard. 13 mm floor plasterboard is what you need.

If you have a very thick (+30mm) top floor, it might be rigid enough for one layer of plasterboard to suffice. The important thing is that the floor is rigid so that the adhesive doesn't come loose and the tiles detach and/or the grout cracks.

Thanks for all the answers!

otherwise, you can prime the floor 3 times, reinforce with "chicken wire," and then level directly with self-leveling compound...

did it in a kitchen and hallway in a house built in 45...

worked perfectly... you get a flat and perfect surface to lay tiles on...

edit
fiber-reinforced self-leveling compound that is...
