Hi! I have a basement door with almost a 2cm gap. I've tried adding some strips but there are still too many gaps. If I push hard, I notice that it "seals" when I hold the door. Are there any tricks to force the door to fit tighter? Is there any mechanism in the handle or similar where you can normally "tighten"?

It is usually possible to adjust the strike plate (the metal piece in the door frame where the latch bolt goes in). Sometimes there's something to screw on, and sometimes a tongue to bend a little.

Thanks, tried to bend the tongue as much as possible, but it wasn't enough to make the door airtight. It still has a lot of gaps. Maybe I should stick something in the frame to create some kind of distance.

Can't you carve out a bit inside the sheet metal and move it inward? It's better than mouldings.
