My renovation has now reached the kitchen, which will be relocated in the process. A few threads will come up for various challenges.

I have a wall that ideally should be thinner since the fridge is otherwise a bit too deep. Every centimeter is welcome...

Looking at a cross-section of the walls, it's solidly built (see image) with planks on both sides of the studs.

1. How much wood is necessary?
2. The gypsum and masonite can simply be removed, but can I replace the planks on the inside with, for example, a 10mm OSB board?
3. How do you guess the studs behind the walls are positioned (the house was built in 1928)?

It is impossible to answer question 1 since it is impossible to know if the wall is over-dimensioned or not.
