Thickness of spark screen

Don't know if this is the right forum, but the moderator can move the post if it ends up in the wrong place....:S
Does anyone know how thick the spark plate in front of a wood stove must be? Nothing premade fits, so the metalworker will make a plate, and he claimed it must be at least 1mm thick? Anyone know? I can't find anything good when I google, (cool that a company name can become a verb). I will of course also check with the insurance company.

Don't quite understand the question, it should be "incombustible." 1mm is quite a thin sheet, but it's enough to withstand embers that might jump out. Personally, I would go up to 2mm to avoid marks if, for example, you drop the poker.

Now I have spoken with the chimney sweep, 0.7 mm is the thinnest that is approved. But as the Photographer says, the sheet should be thicker to avoid marks.
