Hello!
I have a concern; I've almost finished building our upper floor now, converting it from a cold attic to a living space (Did everything myself).
The concern I have is that it might be appropriate to have a staircase to move between the floors....
In the house, there is a dismantled old staircase that the previous owner possibly intended to use when he had finished building the upper floor, which he didn't complete before he sold the place...
Now I've been looking at this beautiful old staircase, it is a right-turning L-staircase, i.e., just as it should be, but it seems to be about 1dm too low.
What do I do now?
Scrap it and call someone to build a new one for me? Modify it to fit? Put it in anyway and have a very unusual final step?
Build a staircase myself and use the old one as a reference to see how all the parts should look?
What would you have done?

Yes, that's exactly how I would do it, a low platform that the stairs stand on. Tastes differ, but I would try not to make it too small and let it spread out a bit, especially under the stairs if this will be visible.
Yes, the idea of a walled platform has crossed our minds. Since a new slab with underfloor heating is going to be cast in the hall where the staircase is to be placed. What I'm not sure about yet is the exact measurement of how far the staircase will extend out, if it's a bit long the platform becomes very narrow unless it protrudes into a doorway, which isn't very successful...
