Hi.
We built our house last year and moved in December. About a month ago, we discovered that a shard in the facade had come loose so that the insulation is visible. I then called our builder and also sent a picture. I got really scared about moisture, etc. They say it's a "cosmetic defect" and nothing to worry about but that they will send someone to "patch it up" after the holidays. Is that true? I'm super worried!

  • Crack in house facade revealing white insulation, surrounded by gravel at the base.

Is it a wooden frame or a stone frame behind the cell foam?

Is it even the facade in the picture? Or is it the foundation/bottom plate ..?

It looks like a basic element. No problem at all, just dig away a bit and polish it up and it will be fine afterwards.

No worries mate! Easy fix, can never get moisture damage from this.

It is the foundation. I wrote faster than I thought. :)
