I have a slightly odd problem.
Once upon a time when the previous owner had a chimney fire and the chimney was condemned (and the entire house renovated because of this), they decided to run the venting for the plumbing and cut corners with the underfloor heating through the chimney stack.
Then they placed a chimney on the gable of the house, which now makes for a stove in a really stupid place!
I therefore want to install an interior modular chimney along the chimney stack so that the stove can be where it once stood.
There is a space of about 60x60cm diagonally above where the stove should go. However, the chimney stack slopes down there. Can I chisel this away without causing the chimney to collapse?
