Hello!
I want to remove the sloping ceilings (kattvindar) and about 5 meters of a load-bearing wall, which I assume is the "hjärtväggen," in my wooden house built in 1969. However, I feel a bit lost about how to proceed because I'm not very knowledgeable in this area. If I've understood correctly from my online searches, a building notification is needed for Stockholm city, along with drawings on how the walls should be compensated. A construction company I asked said that it's uncommon to report interior work to the municipality and that I can contact an architect "if I feel I want drawings."
Do you have any ideas on how I should approach this? Should I contact a structural engineer/architect separately, or is it even necessary? Are there companies that can handle everything, including drawings and the notification if needed?
I attach a drawing so you can see which walls I mean.

  • Blueprint showing a triangular roof structure with three red circles highlighting sections of the walls, likely indicating areas of interest for modification in a 1969 wooden house.
If the attic spaces are to be opened up and the vertical studs removed, you should contact a structural engineer. The truss's mechanism will change, so it will need to be offset. Additionally, the ceiling structure is also hung on the vertical studs, so the effect on the ceiling structure also needs to be checked. Without knowing what the foundation looks like, I would try to shorten the opening in the load-bearing wall; 5m is long, and the beam dimension will likely be inconveniently large.
