I'm planning to open up a wall. It was already prepared for an opening between 2-3, but it has been sealed.
My plan is to open along the green line, but unfortunately, there are two water pipes, so there will have to be a pillar. There are currently two short 45x225 beams over the openings.
Is it feasible to replace them with double 45x220s with posts at the ends and in the middle by the water pipes?
The openings will then be 1.20 and 1.90.
Do I need to upgrade to glulam or Kerto LVL beams?
