I am planning to demolish a wall that I guess consists of large bricks, 50x23 cm, about 8-10 cm deep. Do you have any suggestions on the easiest way to demolish this wall, while minimizing dust as much as possible? I have removed the plaster in one spot according to the picture.

My thought is to remove the mortar with some tool to remove whole bricks. Is that well thought out, and which tool would work for that? The mortar feels quite hard. Probably from the late 1930s.

Bonus question: Any tips on who can perform such work more or less immediately in the Linköping area?

  • Exposed brick wall with removed plaster, showing large bricks likely from the 1930s. The mortar appears hard, suggesting a durable construction.
Try to isolate the space with plastic from floor to ceiling. Tape around.

Buy a sledgehammer.
Think back to your unjust math teacher or similar.

A little while later, the problem is solved :)

There are undoubtedly more sophisticated methods.
But sometimes there's no need to complicate things either.

Addition:
When I did something similar, I drilled a few holes with a hammer drill to get through somewhere. Then you can use the sledgehammer.
