I have a small question about tearing down the yellow walls in the attached picture in our bedrooms that are built with blåbetong.
They are 7cm thick and are supposed to be non-load-bearing. I was a bit puzzled when I made a hole in a wall and came across a reinforcement mesh. Is it common for non-load-bearing interior walls to be built with reinforced blocks? The central wall that runs through the middle of the house, which has a foundation footing, is about a 20cm thick lightweight concrete wall, as are the outer walls. There is also a cast concrete ceiling between the floors that is 20cm thick.
What I can imagine is that the blocks are large and fragile, hence the reinforcement.
ok, you also don't think they are load-bearing according to the drawing? However, it will be a bit of work to cut away all the rebar.
Planning to replace the wall with 70mm wooden studs, OSB board, and drywall with insulation in between, maybe it's safest to take half the wall or even less at a time.
