This question about tape becomes very relevant in about a week or so when I put plastic on the ground in the crawl space. I will need to both splice the plastic lengthwise and seal around pillars, pipes, etc. I think I read somewhere that LFS (Ljungby Fukt ......) recommended fabric tape, more durable. But now I'm hesitant, maybe I should buy construction foil tape from Byggmax. What does the forum think?
Yes, actually, I didn't think much about the price but the difference between gaffer tape and "regular" tape. The price difference is negligible for two rolls of tape. But then Byggmax tape is excluded because of the adhesive. Thank you.
Byggmax sells two different models, one blue and one transparent, the latter is Tesa.Glenn K said:
I have used both, and I think the blue one works much better, much softer and more flexible, and better adhesion than Tesa when I compared them side-by-side.
The most important thing when taping/gluing is that the surfaces are clean and dry, so I wouldn't try to use any type of tape in a crawl space.
There were several suggestions here. The recommendation is actually to seal all joints and then tape is the most obvious option. How else should I do it?
Yes, I did, and I will do so again today. It took about a week, Schenker lost the package the first time. But they quickly sent a new one after talking with Schenker, so the customer service seems to work well.jaso said:
I think the blue one was completely useless too, the slightest unevenness and it comes off. So buy the more expensive one and you know it sticks, from Germany it's also cheaper!Daniel78 said:Byggmax sells two different models, a blue one and a transparent one, the latter is Tesa.

I bought a roll (the blue one you linked to). I think it was trash!jaso said:
Sticks quite poorly. I'm going to try to use it up in places where almost no tape at all can fail.
I previously used up a roll of TESA, after which I discovered T-flex, which is absolutely wonderful. (But expensive)
For me, the thread is new and useful. And many different opinions, good with democracy, but a bit confusing. If I am now going to buy tape, where can I buy TESA or T-flex, does Beijer usually have it? Is there anyone who has tested on plastic in crawl space?
