I have a basement wall where the plaster is coming off, and I've used a coarse wire brush to remove all the loose parts. The plaster is applied thickly, and I haven't reached the concrete wall anywhere. But now it looks like a moonscape, of course.

Is there any way to repair the plaster that doesn't mean I have to redo everything in a year? It's only the external walls I'm dealing with.

Have you found out why the plaster has come off and if so, have you fixed it? Often it is due to moisture and if you do not address the root cause, it is only a matter of time before it comes off again.

It is definitely moisture release, the house hasn't been drained in many years.

I am probably looking for some sort of "quick fix" that keeps the plaster up longer.
