Hi. Can someone help us clarify what options we have for our choice of surface for the floors? We have re-insulated, added some extra joists, and will be installing water-based underfloor heating. We have chosen to lay spaced panels as the distances between our joists are very irregular. We have laid spaced panels in the dimensions of 28x120 and are now considering what options we have for choosing a surface? Ideally, we would like to lay a parquet floor or a laminate floor directly on the spaced panels, is that possible? If so, in what dimension? For various reasons, we want to build as little as possible in height beyond the spaced panels. All help and tips appreciated / Anton

Thank you for the response!
What do you think about a parquet floor that is 12mm if you ensure that the measurement of the "planks" is exactly right so that all the joints fall in the middle of the sparse paneling?
I would preferably want a parquet floor that measures 158 mm in width precisely for the reason that all the joints will fall in the middle of the sparse paneling. The only parquet floors I have found with that measurement so far have a thickness of 12mm...

It sounds like you want to lay the parquet along the sparsely spaced panel, do I understand correctly? You should always lay the parquet across the sparsely spaced panel. Then it doesn’t matter where the short joints are; the long joints will always get enough support.
