Hello! I am going to build a deck for a wooden house with a sheet metal facade. The deck will be about 1.2m high, so it should be attached to the house for stability.
If I cut the sheet metal facade to attach the ledger board directly to the wooden wall, I don't know how to protect the house from moisture. Is there another solution? If you attach the ledger board on top of the metal and screw through it into the wooden structure, will the metal hold? I was thinking if the pressure is distributed enough that the metal maintains its shape. Spacers behind the metal maybe?

Distances behind the metal sheet and fastening to the facade behind?
Maybe also an EPD washer on the screw so that water doesn't leak in behind the sheet there?

Hello,

Facing the same challenge, how did you eventually do it?

Some pictures and/or a sketch will probably get you better help.

Build freestanding instead. Add a couple of extra diagonal braces if you're concerned about the stability.

Hi. I placed wooden strips as spacers behind the sheet metal.
