Suggestions for ceiling ski storage wanted
Hi
Apologies if this is the wrong topic, moderator, please feel free to move it.
I was wondering if anyone has any tips for a similar setup in, for example, the garage ceiling.
I'm thinking of two parallel one-meter pieces, but what kind of tensioning device should be used for the skis?
I remember my father had clever roof rack bars with rubber straps for the skis on the Amazon.
Grateful for any tips as the skis are always in the way.
Regards
Fredrik

I have Elfa shelves over two meters on one wall and store skis at the top. The children are small, so right now we have "only" 6 pairs of skis together including poles for everyone and poles for long-distance skating. The skis are well-placed and accessible at the top under the ceiling, similar to this, but I think the brackets I have are clearly longer.

The downside of Elfa is that it's expensive, but they are really good. I think my wall cost around 4000, but I have space for shovels, rakes, certain tools that I want easily accessible near the gate, and a long shelf for all sorts of bottles and cans, etc.

That's how it looked when I just mounted it. It holds quite a lot despite not being so big. I've complemented it with hooks on the left and in the front for all the bike helmets and cables, etc. I've also bought small metal shelves about 15 cm deep for small items where the sprinkler now hangs. I have a long variant at 360 cm inside, which probably cost over 10' including a 20% discount that they often offer at K-Rauta and other places. Very easy to work with using those carrying rails you screw up near the ceiling and then hang everything from.
I'm getting more and more bothered by the spades and am considering replacing them with longer hanging rails and shelves to make an outdoor tool shed instead.
