The other day, I picked up a load of feed that I had delivered to a planing mill. Nothing remarkable except that the width is not standard and that we wanted a nice old profile. One thing I found strange was the beads on the backside (to compensate for irregularities between the two pieces to be covered). There were three supports instead of just one at each end. The third support was in the middle of the strip. Does anyone have a good explanation for this? The planer wasn’t there, so I didn't get an answer then. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture as I have already routed away the extra support, so it's no longer a problem, but I am curious.
